Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Michèle moved to Toronto Canada to pursue her art education post secondary. She graduated with a degree in concept art for video games, animation and film and worked as a junior artist in the industry for a while.
She transitioned into comics after coming on board to color her first series with DC Comics – Gotham Academy and fell in love with the process. She works under the pen name: M-Sassy-K.
MsassyK was created out of Michele “Sassy-rassy-korn” – a nickname during her art school years. Whether she was sassy or not, is no longer disputed. Also, she figured MSASSYK is much easier to work with on comic covers than her full name.
She worked as a colorist for outstanding titles such as ISOLA, Batman; The Brave and the Bold, The Hunger and the Dusk, Critical Role: Vox Machina, and many more over the decade before dipping her toes into drawing graphic novels for kids.
Her debut as an artist is for her ongoing series with fellow local colorist Nathan Fairbairn, published by Penguin Putnam, called PAWS.
